Maison Arostéguy

Founded in 1875, the house Arostéguy is a family story. First led by Uncle Diribarne, his nephew Arnaud Arostéguy joined him in 1914. At the end of the First World War, the grocery store opened up to the world and attracted a new Anglo-Saxon and Russian clientele. Moreover, on the window we can read “English an American Store”.

At the end of the second world war, the explosion of a bomb destroys the storefront of the grocery store. This is an opportunity for Felix, the son of Arnaud, to change the style of the showcase. In the 1960s, the house received prestigious visits, such as that of Luis Mariano or Catherine Deneuve. In 1989, Pierre joined his grandfather Félix in the direction of the grocery store. He creates the brand “Maison Arostéguy”, which is exported to the world’s largest delicatessens.

In 2000, Espelette pepper becomes AOP.
